Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Mochareel ("Mochareel", "we", "us", or "our") is a creative tool for making short animated videos from text prompts and images. It is built for family-friendly storytelling — for educators, parents, storytellers, and creators who want to make content suitable for general audiences, including children. The Service is operated by an individual based in India and is available at https://mochareel.com.
Mochareel is in early access. We are not currently certified or aligned with any specific data-protection framework (such as the EU/UK GDPR or India's DPDP Act). This Policy is a plain-English description of what we actually do — please read it carefully and decide whether you are comfortable using the Service.
For any privacy question, request, or complaint, contact us at support@mochareel.com.
2. Information we collect
a. Account information (from Google Sign-in)
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, Google account ID, and profile image. We do not receive your Google password.
b. Service usage
We collect the text prompts, narration scripts, configuration choices (visual style, duration, orientation, subtitles, resolution), and images you submit to generate animations and assets, together with the resulting outputs and timestamps. We also keep a record of your credit balance and credit transactions (purchases, generations, refunds).
c. Payment information
Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. We store the customer identifier provided by Polar and metadata about transactions (amount, purpose, and Polar transaction identifiers). We do not receive, store, or process your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive card data — these are handled by Polar under their own Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms.
d. Technical and session information
We collect the IP address from which you connect, your user agent (browser and operating system), and a session token stored in a cookie that lets you stay signed in. We use IP and session signals to apply rate limits and to protect the Service from abuse.
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and provide access to the Service.
- To run the animation and asset generations you request, including queuing them on our backend workers.
- To bill you for credits purchased and to maintain your credit balance and history.
- To protect the Service: enforce rate limits, detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and material changes to the Service or these policies.
- To diagnose errors, debug, and improve the Service.
- With your separate consent (which you may withdraw at any time by emailing support@mochareel.com), to feature example outputs and prompts in our marketing and on our website.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not show third-party advertising on Mochareel, and we do not use your personal data to profile you for advertising purposes.
4. Third-party AI processing
Mochareel uses third-party artificial-intelligence providers to generate videos and assets from your prompts and uploads. The specific providers we use may change over time as the technology evolves. When you submit a prompt or upload an image, that content is transmitted to one or more of these providers for processing.
We do not control where these providers store or process your data. Their storage and processing may occur in jurisdictions outside India and outside the European Economic Area, including jurisdictions whose data-protection laws may differ from those that apply where you live. We do not currently have a complete map of these jurisdictions and cannot make guarantees about them.
Please do not submit prompts or upload content that you would not be comfortable sharing with a third-party AI provider.
If you delete your account, we will make a reasonable effort to relay a deletion request to these providers, but we cannot guarantee that they will delete data held on their side.
5. Third parties we share data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate Mochareel, and only to the extent necessary:
- Google — for sign-in (Google OAuth). Google receives the fact that you signed into Mochareel.
- Polar — our Merchant of Record. Processes payments, handles billing on our behalf, and calculates and remits sales taxes and VAT globally.
- Cloud infrastructure providers — for hosting, database, file storage, and related infrastructure. Servers used by Mochareel are located in the European Economic Area.
- Third-party AI providers — as described in Section 4 above. Your prompts and uploaded images are sent to these providers for the actual generation, and may be stored or processed by them in locations we do not control.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce these policies, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mochareel, our users, or others.
6. Where your data is stored
Account data, credit balances, transactions, most metadata, uploaded assets, and generated videos are stored with our cloud infrastructure providers on servers located in the European Economic Area.
However, when your prompts or uploaded images are sent to third-party AI providers for generation (see Section 4), those providers may store or process them in their own systems and locations, which we do not control. If you access the Service from outside the European Economic Area, your data will also be transferred to and processed in locations outside your country.
7. How long we keep your data
We retain your account information, generations, assets, and transaction history for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account by emailing support@mochareel.com, we will, within thirty (30) days of confirming your request, delete or anonymize the personal data we hold on our own systems — except where we are required to keep it longer to comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution obligations.
Data that has been transmitted to the third-party providers described in Section 4 is outside our direct control. We will make a reasonable, best-effort attempt to relay your deletion request to those providers, but we cannot guarantee that they will delete the data on their side, or on what timeline they may do so. Deletion on third-party systems should be treated as best-effort, not a promise.
8. Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and the data associated with it by emailing support@mochareel.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Note that some of your data may continue to exist with the third-party providers described in Section 4 — we cannot directly control or delete data held on their systems. We will make a reasonable effort to relay your request to them, but cannot guarantee the outcome.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this Policy and, where required, request your consent.
10. Children and family use
Mochareel is built for family-friendly storytelling, and many of the videos created on the Service are made for children to watch. We want to be clear about how we treat data when children are involved.
How videos reach viewers. Mochareel does not currently provide in-platform video sharing or playback for non-account-holders. To show a generated video to anyone else, the account holder downloads the video file from the Service and shares it through their own means (for example, a classroom screen, a messaging app, or another platform). Children who watch a downloaded video outside Mochareel are not interacting with our systems, so we do not collect personal data from them in that capacity.
Accounts and payments. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must read these terms and our Terms of Service with you, accept them on your behalf, and take responsibility for the account and any payments. Where local law requires verifiable parental consent or sets a specific minimum age for online services (for example, COPPA in the United States or the DPDP Act in India), those local rules apply. We will treat a request from a verified parent or guardian as taking precedence over a request from the child.
No profiling, no targeted ads. We do not show advertising on Mochareel, we do not build advertising or behavioral profiles of any user, and we do not knowingly use children's personal data for marketing.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has registered or provided personal data to Mochareel without your authorization, email support@mochareel.com and we will work with you to address it — including, on request, deleting the account and the associated data.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and the security controls provided by our cloud infrastructure providers and Polar. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal data, we will notify you and any relevant authorities as required by law.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
